Description

ARA-290 16mg

ARA-290, also known as Cibinetide or PHBSP, is an 11–amino-acid synthetic peptide derived from the helix-B region of erythropoietin (EPO). Designed to emulate EPO’s tissue-protective and anti-inflammatory effects without stimulating red blood cell formation, ARA-290 selectively binds the innate repair receptor (IRR). Supplied as a lyophilised powder for research use only, it offers laboratories a precise tool to explore neuroprotection, inflammation modulation, and tissue repair mechanisms

Please note – ARA-290 can sometimes turn “glue-like” in bacteriostatic water because it’s an unbuffered, low-salt diluent, so the peptide can self-associate (twist/coil and stick to itself) during uneven hydration, forming soft aggregates; 1× Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS) (pH 7.4) maintains stable pH and ionic strength, which reduces this self-association and helps the peptide dissolve evenly into a clear solution. You can find PBS on our web site here

Research Focus and Areas of Interest

1. IRR Activation & Tissue Repair

ARA-290 engages the IRR complex to trigger cytoprotective and anti-inflammatory signaling, steering research into mechanisms of tissue preservation and healing without erythropoietic side effects.

2. Neuropathic Symptom Modulation

In clinical exploration, ARA-290 is used to study its capacity to reduce neuropathic symptoms and support nerve regeneration, such as increased corneal nerve fiber density—particularly in models of small fiber neuropathy and sarcoidosis.

3. Metabolic Control Insights

Research has shown ARA-290’s potential to improve metabolic indicators—such as reduced HbA1c and healthier lipid profiles—making it relevant in studies of diabetes-linked neuropathy and systemic metabolism.

4. Anti-Inflammatory & Neuroprotective Effects

In preclinical models, ARA-290 modulates microglial activation, attenuates inflammatory pathways, and has even been studied in models of depression-like behavior, broadening its use in neuroinflammation and stress responses.

Conclusion

ARA-290 represents a refined research peptide designed to activate tissue-protective and anti-inflammatory pathways—without triggering erythropoiesis. It’s ideal for controlled studies in neuropathy, metabolic regulation, neuroinflammation, and tissue repair. Supplied strictly for research use only, it is not intended for therapeutic or veterinary use.
