Frequently Asked Questions

If you cannot find the answer you are looking for here, please do not hesitate to get in touch. You can reach us by phone during business hours or by email at any time — and for more complex or technical questions, speaking directly with our founder is often the most useful route.

About Pure Peptides UK

How long have you been in business?

Pure Peptides UK has been trading continuously since 2013 — making us one of the longest-established peptide suppliers in the UK. We are a registered UK limited company (Pure Progress Ltd, Companies House number 10512948) and are VAT registered. We are not anonymous, and we are not going anywhere.

Where are you based and where do orders ship from?

We are a UK company registered in Epsom, Surrey, and all orders are dispatched from within the UK. This means fast delivery for domestic customers and straightforward, predictable transit times for international orders.

Is it legal to buy peptides in the UK?

Yes — straightforwardly and unambiguously yes. Peptides are legal to purchase in the UK for research purposes, and no prescription is required. Our products are labelled for research use only, which is the standard regulatory framework under which research chemicals are supplied in the UK. This is a legal labelling requirement, not an indication that anything unusual is going on.

Buying from a UK-registered company means your purchase is made entirely within UK law. There are no import complications or grey areas for domestic orders.

I have a detailed technical question. Can you help?

Yes. Our founder has 16 years of experience in peptide biochemistry and is personally accessible by phone during business hours and by email. Some questions are genuinely best handled by a direct conversation rather than written communication — if that applies to your query, please do give us a call. You will speak to someone who actually knows the field.

Product Quality and Testing

How do I know that your products are what they say they are?

Every batch of peptides we receive is independently tested at our UK partner laboratory — an ISO9001 certified facility — before it goes on sale. The resulting Certificate of Analysis (CoA) is published directly on each product page, where you can view and download it before you buy.

A Certificate of Analysis is a laboratory report that confirms the identity and purity of the product. It is independently produced — not generated by us — and is specific to the batch you are purchasing. It is your verifiable proof that what is in the vial matches what is on the label.

What is peptide purity and why does it matter?

Purity, as reported in a Certificate of Analysis, is the percentage by weight of the target peptide present in the vial relative to other compounds that are artefacts of the synthesis process. A purity of 99%, for example, means that 99% of the measurable content is the peptide itself.

Purity matters because a lower-purity product contains a higher proportion of unknown synthesis by-products alongside the peptide. For research purposes, knowing precisely what you are working with is fundamental. We do not sell products below our minimum purity threshold.

What is the difference between your Standard and Premium ranges?

Both our Standard and Premium ranges are independently tested at our ISO9001 certified UK laboratory, with a Certificate of Analysis published on the product page for every batch. The difference lies in the additional testing applied to Premium products.

For our Premium range, every batch additionally undergoes:

  • Endotoxin testing (LAL test) — which detects the presence of bacterial endotoxins that could cause inflammatory responses
  • Heavy metal screening — which tests for the presence of toxic metals including lead, arsenic, mercury and cadmium

This combination of purity analysis, endotoxin testing and heavy metal screening represents the gold standard of peptide quality assurance. It is particularly important for researchers and clinicians who require the highest level of independent verification. No other UK supplier carries out testing to this standard as a matter of routine.

Where do you source your peptides from?

We source from a small number of carefully selected manufacturers with whom we have maintained commercial relationships for up to 12 years. These are not the lowest-cost options available — they are suppliers chosen and retained on the basis of consistently verified quality.

We never source from online marketplaces, pooled supply chains or unverified intermediaries. Every batch, regardless of our confidence in the source, is independently tested before going on sale. We do not name our suppliers publicly, as these long-term relationships are a significant part of how we operate — but the laboratory evidence for every product is there on the page for you to inspect.

Why do the vials I have received look different from the images on your website?

In common with all peptide suppliers, we use computer-generated images on our website. This is because the small size of peptide vials makes them difficult to photograph effectively. We do our best to ensure that the images accurately represent the vial colour, label design and cap colour, but minor variations can occur between batches. If you have any concern about a product you have received, please contact us immediately.

Storage and Stability

How should I store unreconstituted peptides?

Unreconstituted peptides should be stored in a freezer at −18°C or below. At this temperature, peptides exhibit exceptionally low degradation rates. Any peptides that are not going to be used immediately should go straight into the freezer. The expiry date printed on our vial labels is based on this assumption.

How long will peptides last in the freezer?

Research on synthetic peptides of 6–20 amino acids has demonstrated excellent stability at −20°C in dry form, with estimated shelf-lives of 2–5 years (Zhou et al., 2002, Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences). We set the expiry date on our vial labels at two years from the date of synthesis, which is a conservative and well-supported figure for correctly stored, unreconstituted peptides.

Can I freeze and defrost peptides more than once?

For unreconstituted peptides, repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided. The temperature changes associated with repeated cycling can cause damage to the peptide chain bonds and accelerate degradation. If you anticipate using a product over time, consider dividing it into smaller portions before freezing.

How should I store reconstituted peptides?

Once reconstituted, peptides should be stored in a refrigerator (not a freezer), kept at a constant cool temperature and away from light. Reconstituted peptides are less stable than their lyophilised (dry powder) counterparts and should be used within four weeks of reconstitution where possible.

Research has shown that short-chain peptides (up to 20 amino acids) can retain 90–95% of their potency after eight weeks of refrigeration, but four weeks is the recommended window for optimal stability.

What is the expiry date on the vial label based on?

The expiry date is calculated from the date of synthesis and assumes that the peptides are stored correctly in a freezer at −18°C or below. Peptides stored at room temperature will degrade significantly faster and the expiry date is not applicable in those conditions.

Where can I find more detailed information about reconstitution?

We are developing a dedicated resource at peptide.guide which will contain comprehensive guidance on reconstitution, including how to calculate volumes and concentrations based on vial content. This resource is currently in development. In the meantime, please contact us directly — our founder is happy to talk you through the process.

Ordering and Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

We currently accept the following payment methods:

  • Bank transfer — standard BACS transfer to our UK bank account
  • Instant bank payment — via our banking app integration, which allows you to approve a payment securely and instantly through your own banking app without entering card details
  • Cryptocurrency — we accept a range of cryptocurrencies at checkout

We are currently working to restore credit and debit card payment facilities. Card processing for research chemical suppliers is an area where payment processors apply additional scrutiny, which can make maintaining card acceptance challenging — this is a well-known issue across the sector and is not a reflection of our compliance record or business standing. We apologise for any inconvenience and will update this page as soon as card payments are restored.

Is there a minimum order value?

No. You can order a single vial if that is what you need. There is no minimum order value.

Do you offer discounts for larger or repeat orders?

Yes. We operate a discount scheme based on the total value of orders placed within a month — details are available on our Discounts and Special Offers page. For customers purchasing larger quantities on a regular basis, we are also happy to discuss preferential rates on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us directly for more information.

Dispatch and Delivery

How quickly do you dispatch orders?

We dispatch all in-stock orders the next working day. Stock availability is clearly indicated on each product page — if a product is listed as available, it is in stock and will be dispatched the following working day.

How are orders packaged?

All orders are packed discreetly in plain outer packaging with no exterior markings other than your delivery address. There is nothing on the outside of the parcel to indicate its contents or that it has come from Pure Peptides UK.

Do you provide tracking information?

Yes. All orders are sent via tracked postal or courier services. When your order is dispatched, we send you an email containing your tracking reference. You can use this to follow your parcel’s progress:

  • Royal Mail shipments: track at royalmail.com/track-your-item
  • DHL shipments: track at dhl.co.uk

What delivery services do you use?

For UK orders, we dispatch via Royal Mail Tracked 24 as standard. Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed is also available at additional cost for time-critical orders. For international orders, we use Royal Mail International Tracked or DHL, depending on the destination country.

Do you deliver internationally?

Yes, we deliver worldwide. For most destinations we use Royal Mail International Tracked or DHL. There are a small number of countries where Customs authorities routinely intercept peptide shipments regardless of their legal status in the destination country — we do not ship to these destinations. A full list is available on our delivery information page.

Please note that not all delivery options are available to all countries. If a delivery method does not appear at checkout for your address, it either does not operate to your destination or has been suspended due to a pattern of Customs issues on that route.

What happens if my international order is stopped by Customs?

In the rare event that an international shipment is refused entry or seized by Customs, we will issue you a full refund. No argument, no process. This applies regardless of the destination country.

Returns, Refunds and Guarantees

What is your returns policy?

Unopened vials may be returned within 15 days of delivery for a full refund. Please contact us before returning any items so that we can arrange the process.

What if my order does not arrive?

If your order does not arrive within the expected timeframe, please contact us. We will investigate with the carrier and, if the parcel cannot be located and delivered, we will either reship your order or issue a full refund — whichever you prefer. This applies to both UK and international orders.

What if I have a concern about a product I have received?

Please contact us immediately. We stand behind every product we sell and will always resolve a genuine concern — whether that means a replacement, a refund or simply talking through what you have received. After 12 years in business, our reputation matters considerably more to us than any individual transaction.

Affiliate Programme

Do you have an affiliate programme?

Yes — we operate what we believe is the UK’s largest affiliate programme in the peptide sector. Affiliates earn 10% commission on all sales generated through their unique referral link or discount code, including repeat purchases by referred customers. The attribution cookie is active for 365 days and resets with every purchase.

Full details, including how to apply, are available on our dedicated Affiliate Programme page.

All products are sold for research use only. If you have a question that is not answered here, please contact us by phone or email — we are happy to help.
